Quick point: Now that you’re here, feel free to go grab a glass of something while all the GIFs are loading. I just want to make sure you live this ineffable experience to the fullest.
Hi! My name is Oriol, and I’m going to talk a little bit about myself on this post. There will be a few GIFs.
First of all, Oriol is a Catalan name (therefore not very common). It’s pronounced /Uriòl/. Oh, and apparently it means ‘Golden’.
Born and raised in beautiful Barcelona. Since 1986. That’s Barceloneta beach in the summer.
I’m an Engineer in Telecommunications. Degree earned between UPC in Barcelona and KTH in Stockholm.
Yes, a little bit. But I also hold a Marketing degree, so I’m very creative too. I went a bit further to earn this one; UCLA in Los Angeles.
GO BRUINS! I learned a lot of things there.
I love languages, and I truly agree with the saying – ‘When you speak another language, you become another person’. I speak English, Spanish, and Catalan. I’m currently making it happen with French. Ça va? Ça va.
Due to that panoply (I love this word) of skills, I currently manage both the Marketing and the Technology departments at a startup.
Which basically means that one day I feel like this…
… and the next six days something like this…
But you gotta hold on, you know?
Or as I like to say:
Anyways. I’ve also been acting and modeling since I was 19. Amazing industry. So amazing that once I wrote an article titled ‘The Benefits of Rejection‘. Go figure.
I couldn’t love Barcelona more than I do, but I love not being here. I truly enjoyed spending 8 months in Stockholm and 3 years in Los Angeles.
You know it Paris. Are you guys enjoying this or should I stop it here?
Oh sweet. Well. Here’s some more stuff, perhaps a bit more personal.
Didn’t I just flattered myself with that last GIF. In general, I’m quite lay-back and chill. I promote love and positivity.
Thanks. Nonetheless, there are a few things that can get on my nerves. Coincidentally all of them come from human behavior.
Well, no need to be that tragic. But, I don’t like people who don’t say thanks when you let them go first, or those who sneak in lines. I don’t enjoy either when someones’ cigarette’s smoke goes on my face, not to speak about those who block the sidewalk as if they owned it and force me to slow my swaggy walk down.
Other important things about myself; I’m passionate about sports and pepperoni pizza. Luckily I spend more time doing the first one (for now).
I add olive oil to any dish I eat. Any.
What?
Fine. Well, you’ll rarely find me by myself without my earphones on. Seriously though, music all day every day.
Hip Hop and Indie Rock take most of the time.
I strongly believe that I can dance. Not many people know about that because they never play the good beats when we’re out.
I’m extremely punctual. And even though I don’t understand how some people are always late, I’ve developed a special sense that allows me to cope with it nicely.
So I guess this should be it for now. I’ll assume that rather than being ridiculously bored, you made it this far because you found this somehow entertaining. In that case, I’d be so happy to hear from you in the comments section or here. Let’s start with a friendly ‘Hello’ and we’ll see where that might lead us to? (Ok that sounded awkward).
Well, maybe we should get going before it gets late (I told you I was punctual).
Plus it’s time for a power nap. That’s actually another thing about myself, I take power naps.
Thanks for watching. Much love.
